![]() ![]() I wanted something that was not the run-of-the-mill Holiday Inn express or Hampton - something with a more upscale feel that would enhance the weekend not - just be a place to sleep. You have lots of great choices for music venues, cool bars and dining. The Athens area has a great music scene and the downtown area is compact enough to walk anywhere. I was looking for a place to stay in the Athens, GA area for a weekend getaway. The bathroom has a wonderful and large walk-in shower with double shower heads (one hand-held). The bedding is very comfy, and the room is outfitted with modern furniture and is spotlessly clean. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. ![]() Note that they charge a modest $10 per night for semi-secure, covered parking with direct access via guest elevators. It is also almost next-door to the Melting Point, one of several awesome live music venues I enjoy in Athens. The location is just a few short blocks and an easy walk from the heart of the downtown music and restaurant scene. Very modern feel and very friendly staff. The place is almost identical to the one in Asheville. I recently reviewed the Hotel Indigo in Asheville, NC and really enjoyed the vibe of the hotel, so I decided to give the Indigo in Athens a try. ![]() ![]()
